May Update

Quite a busy month as  activities have included Onka Valley Scenery, NMRA Meeting, My Ops Session, Ops Session at Wayne's, Website Changes, Job Cards, Ops Planning for Sessions 6, 7 & 8, EVNGR Loco Card, Tasks Completed in last 30 days & Scheduled Tasks for next 90 days.

Onka Valley Scenery

There have been a number of work sessions this month.  Once again Peter J has been working his scenery magic with colours and shades.

Gear Back Out...

All the stuff covering Hornertown Yard again...

Supplies...

Waterproof glue and Isopropanol alcohol have been sourced ready for the next steps.

Ballasting the mainline bridge tracks

I ballasted the bridge tracks.

Rear track ballast and ground cover

Peter ballasted and place ground cover.

Bridge Piers

Peter has weathered the piers and cut a slot in the back face to clear the threaded rod supports.  After trial fitting the end sections and four piers, we epoxy glued the end sections in place then the eight half sections together in pairs which were clamped until the glue had set.

Adamsville Branch Bridge

The bridge deck was painted light grey.

Bridge on Mainline to Helix

Ties painted, ballast and ground cover and shrubs at base of the bridge

Preparing the creek bed

Many different types of rocks added ready for 'pouring the water' in the future.

The next session will see more ground covering applied and finer materials in the creek bed before some tree and water in the creek.

NMRA Meeting

I attended my first meeting of Division 6 on Saturday 13 May and I was made welcome.  It will take me a while to understand how things work and get to know other members.  It was interesting to find a few members follow this blog!

Ops Sessions on 1st

Well, it didn't happen due to the lack of available operators.  So until next month....

Ops Sessions at Wayne's

I was invited to the session on May 10 but that was the only day I could get the gas technician to come fix our space heater so I had to miss out.  Then again on May 25, but due to a family medical appointment I was also unable to attend however,  those who did are Wayne,  Des, Don, Dennis and Peter S and the report was "all went pretty well".  Here are some pics courtesy of Don.

Website Update

I added a page showing my operators and have done heaps of updating in the operations strategy section including all the details in Sessions 1 - 8.

Job Cards Update

All of the new job cards for sessions 1 - 8 have been prepared and printed.
